Crimson Desert Developer Update: Intel Arc GPU Support, AI Content, & Gameplay Fixes
Pearl Abyss, the developer of Crimson Desert, has addressed the initial incompatibility of the game with Intel Arc GPUs. Following issues reported at launch, the company confirmed it is actively working on optimization and support to ensure a smooth and stable gameplay experience for players using Intel Arc systems. Pearl Abyss has requested players' patience until these support updates are available and apologized for any confusion caused by earlier FAQ wording on the subject.
This statement from Pearl Abyss comes after Intel released its own commentary, revealing that it had offered assistance to the developers for several years. Intel stated that it provided early hardware, drivers, and engineering resources across multiple GPU generations, including Alchemist, Battlemage, Meteor Lake, and Lunar Lake, to help test, validate, and optimize graphics support for Crimson Desert. Intel expressed disappointment that players with their hardware were unable to access the game at launch and affirmed its continued readiness to assist Pearl Abyss.
Beyond the Intel GPU compatibility, Pearl Abyss is also actively working to remedy several other issues and player concerns:
- AI-Generated Assets: The studio is conducting a comprehensive audit of the game to identify and remove AI-generated assets, with a new AI disclaimer now present on the game's store page.
- Keyboard and Mouse Controls: Player complaints regarding the control scheme are being addressed. A recent patch has been swiftly deployed to improve keyboard and mouse controls, alongside other general adjustments.
- Dragon Mount Limitations: Despite being prominently featured in promotional materials, the in-game dragon mount is currently time-gated behind main quests and operates with a cooldown, a mechanic that has caused some player frustration.
Pearl Abyss's responsive communication and immediate action on these issues underscore a commitment to refining the player experience and addressing critical feedback received since the game's release.
