Eintracht Frankfurt Secures Noël Aséko for €13 Million

Eintracht Frankfurt has officially announced the acquisition of Noël Aséko from Bayern Munich. The highly-rated German youth international, who has been linked with the Bundesliga club for some time, has signed a five-year contract with Eintracht. Reports indicate that Eintracht will pay Bayern Munich a sum of €13 million for the transfer.

Aséko's successful loan spell at Hannover 96 in the 2. Bundesliga last season, along with several strong performances for the Germany U21 team, has seen his market value skyrocket from €700,000 to €12 million in the past 13 months. This prompted Bayern Munich to activate a buy-back option for their former academy player during the current summer 2026 transfer window.

Reasons for Extended Negotiations

It is understood that Bayern Munich had been hoping to secure a transfer fee exceeding €15 million for Aséko. Initially, club officials Max Eberl and the administrative team at FC Bayern had identified the Berlin-native as a potential successor to the departing Leon Goretzka. However, Bayern's significant investment of an estimated €100 million combined (€50 million each) in new summer signings Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown appears to have influenced their financial considerations.

Consequently, Bayern held out for a slightly higher sum. While specific details regarding potential bonus payments are not yet available from prominent German football media outlets, it is probable that such clauses are included in the agreement. Furthermore, Bayern may have also secured their future interests by incorporating another buy-back option into the deal.

Statements on Aséko's Transfer

"Noël Aséko was already a part of Bayern's extended professional squad for good reason two years ago," stated Eintracht Frankfurt's Sporting Director, Markus Krösche. "Since then, he has impressively demonstrated in Hannover that he possesses the necessary physical attributes to compete at the Bundesliga level."

Max Eberl, his counterpart at Bayern Munich, added, "Noël developed at our FC Bayern campus and now wants to take the next step in Frankfurt by playing regularly in the Bundesliga. Examples like this clearly illustrate how young talents make the leap into professional football through FC Bayern. We wish Noël all the best for his future."

Aséko expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "It means a great deal to me to be here. The discussions with the club officials were very open and respectful from the start, and I was presented with a clear plan for my future development. The move to Eintracht is an important step in my career, and I am convinced that Frankfurt is the right place for me. I can't wait to get to know the team, the coaching staff, the club, and the fans."
