Jhon Lucumi Joins Juventus from Bologna
Juventus has secured the permanent transfer of Jhon Lucumi from Bologna, with the Colombian defender signing a long-term deal extending to June 2030. The 28-year-old centre-back chose Turin as his next destination after considering five other European offers, according to reports.
Lucumi arrives at Juventus after a four-season spell with Bologna, where he became a key player. His career began at Deportivo Cali, followed by a stint at Genk in Belgium before his move to Italy in 2022. During his time with Bologna, he made 152 appearances across all competitions and experienced Champions League football.
The transfer fee is reported to be an initial €18 million, with potential add-ons of up to €2 million based on performance. Lucumi has agreed to a four-year contract, earning €3 million net per season. This permanent move reinforces Juventus's defence with a player who possesses significant Serie A experience, as the club prepares for the upcoming season.
Juventus anticipates Lucumi will make an immediate impact, leveraging his experience gained in Colombia, Belgium, and Italy, particularly his four years with Bologna. His signing is part of Juventus's broader squad strengthening efforts during the summer transfer window, adding depth and experience to their defensive line.
Following the finalisation of the transfer, Lucumi is set to join his new teammates for tactical training. Juventus are slated to begin their 2026-27 Serie A campaign away against Frosinone on Sunday, August 23, which could mark Lucumi's competitive debut for the club.
