Juventus will reportedly pay Leverkusen an initial fee exceeding €30 million, with potential performance-related bonuses that could elevate the total package to between €35 million and €40 million.

Reasoning Behind Alajbegović's Choice for Juventus Over Chelsea

Chelsea had previously been the frontrunner for Alajbegović's commitment and had submitted an initial offer exceeding €30 million in guaranteed funds. The London club's pursuit also involved a personal appeal from former Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, who reportedly discussed a potential development plan for the player at Chelsea. This plan might have included an initial loan spell before competing for a spot at Stamford Bridge.

Despite Chelsea reportedly presenting an improved offer at the eleventh hour, Alajbegović ultimately preferred Juventus. The Italian giants reportedly offered a more compelling immediate sporting prospect, with the teenager expected to be integrated into the first-team regularly in Turin.

This transfer represents a significant financial gain for Leverkusen. The club had initially allowed the academy graduate to join RB Salzburg for approximately €2 million in 2025, retaining a buy-back option.
