Jamie Leweling Remains Uninterested in Joining Bournemouth
According to Kicker, Stuttgart and German international winger Jamie Leweling has no interest in a move to Bournemouth. The 25-year-old, who has earned six caps for Germany, has previously rejected advances from the English club. Reports suggest that the potential appointment of German coach Marco Rose at Bournemouth for the next season has not altered Leweling's decision.
Stuttgart's Reliance on Jamie Leweling for Champions League Campaign
Leweling, along with his Stuttgart teammate Josha Vagnoman, is expected to be a vital player for the team in the upcoming season as Stuttgart prepares for their return to the Champions League after a year's absence. Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß has emphasized the importance of having the strongest possible squad and has tasked the club's management with achieving this.
However, this does not preclude the possibility of player sales. As seen in previous years (2023 and 2024), Hoeneß's stated desire to retain his top players has not always translated into them staying at the club. Last autumn, Nick Woltemade and Enzo Millot also moved on.
Stuttgart's current 36-man squad is considered too large, even for a Bundesliga club competing in the Champions League. With an estimated market value of €40 million, Leweling is the second most valuable player in the VfB squad, trailing only his German national teammate Angelo Stiller, who is valued at €45 million.
The permanent acquisition of Bilal El Khannouss from Leicester City for €15 million contributes to Stuttgart's approximate summer transfer deficit of €16.2 million. While Leweling himself may not be keen on Bournemouth, a transfer to the Premier League could still be a possibility.
