Diant Ramaj set to depart Borussia Dortmund for first-team role

Following a significant playing time in the 2025/26 Bundesliga season with Heidenheim, where he participated in 31 of 34 matches, Diant Ramaj (24) has returned to Borussia Dortmund. However, reports indicate that Ramaj is actively seeking a transfer, driven by the ambition to become a starting goalkeeper at another club.

Discussions regarding his potential exit are already underway. While no firm offers have been tabled, Borussia Dortmund appears amenable to Ramaj's departure. This stance is likely influenced by the presence of Alexander Meyer (35) and Patrick Drewes (33) in backup roles to Gregor Kobel (28), who is currently performing exceptionally well at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ramaj joined BVB in February 2025 for a fee of €5 million, with the initial expectation of eventually succeeding Kobel. Despite establishing himself as a regular starter during loan spells at Copenhagen and Heidenheim, the prospect of replacing Kobel at Dortmund now appears unlikely.

With a contract binding him to Borussia Dortmund until 2029, the club would expect a transfer fee for Ramaj, whose current market value is estimated at €7 million.
