Cologne Leads Race for Thijs Dallinga

FC Cologne is reportedly the leading contender to secure the signature of Thijs Dallinga (26) from Italian club Bologna, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio.

The German club has overtaken fellow Bundesliga side Werder Bremen in the pursuit of the Dutch striker. Dallinga has struggled to make a significant impact in Serie A since his €16 million transfer from Toulouse in 2024, netting just five goals in 54 appearances.

Cologne aims to reduce the reliance on Said El Mala for goals. El Mala was the team's top scorer last season in the Bundesliga with 13 goals, outperforming both Jakub Kaminski (who has since moved to Benfica) and Ragnar Ache.

Despite his difficulties in Italy, Dallinga has a proven track record in France's Ligue 1. He was a prolific scorer for Toulouse, registering 14 goals in 33 league matches during the 2023/24 season and 12 goals in 36 appearances in the 2022/23 campaign.

It remains uncertain at this point whether FC Cologne has officially contacted Bologna regarding a potential transfer for Dallinga.
