Alexander Nübel, currently on loan at Stuttgart, is reportedly keen to compete for the primary goalkeeper position at Bayern Munich when he returns to the club this summer. After a three-year loan spell, Nübel's future at the Bundesliga champions remains uncertain, yet he has expressed readiness to contend for the starting role.
Speaking at a press conference before Germany's match against Ghana, the 29-year-old indicated that there's a "high probability" of his return to Bayern. However, this hinges significantly on Manuel Neuer's decision regarding his future. The 40-year-old veteran is expected to meet with Bayern officials to determine his next steps.
Should Neuer decide to retire, Jonas Urbig is widely anticipated to become the primary choice. Nevertheless, Nübel, who has established himself as Germany's number two goalkeeper and demonstrated consistent competence during his time at the MHP Arena, is prepared to challenge for the position.
