Young Boys Discuss Future of Forward Alan Virginius with Lille

Football News

Swiss club BSC Young Boys has confirmed ongoing talks with French side Lille OSC regarding forward Alan Virginius, aged 22. Virginius spent the recent season on loan at Young Boys, making 45 appearances across all competitions and contributing with seven goals and four assists.

The nature of the current negotiations – whether for another loan spell or a permanent transfer – remains uncertain. However, reports from L’Équipe indicate that Young Boys possessed an option to purchase the player permanently this summer.

Alan Virginius had difficulty establishing himself at Lille following his arrival from FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in 2022. The forward, versatile enough to play on either flank or through the middle, had limited opportunities and was even sent on a short-term loan to Clermont Foot towards the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign before his move to Young Boys.
