Napoli`s forward Victor Osimhen has turned down a massive contract worth €30 million per season from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal. Reports suggest Al-Hilal was close to finalising a transfer agreement for the player.
Napoli is anticipated to sell Osimhen this summer. His contract includes a €75 million release clause specifically for clubs outside of Italy`s Serie A.
Al-Hilal`s initial bid for the Nigerian international was rejected. However, they later agreed to meet the full €75 million release clause. The Saudi club was reportedly keen to sign Osimhen before the FIFA Club World Cup begins on June 14.
Al-Hilal, managed by former Inter coach Simone Inzaghi, presented the 26-year-old striker with a huge annual salary offer of €30 million, which he has now definitively refused. His decision to reject the offer is considered final.
The player has stated his preference is to remain in European football. It`s unclear if Galatasaray, where Osimhen played on loan during the 2024-25 season, will try to make his move permanent.
During his loan spell in Istanbul with Galatasaray, the Napoli striker scored 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions.
