Francesco Totti, the legendary former captain of Roma, was a featured participant in the “Operazione Nostalgia” match held in Parma. He shared his views on several current football topics.
Regarding the prospect of Gian Piero Gasperini potentially managing Roma, Totti stated: “I don`t know whether to feel confident or not, let`s evaluate it. Coaching Roma requires a great deal of personality; he will need to be effective at asserting himself. We have to wait; right now, I wouldn`t be able to offer a judgment.”
In a “1vs1” interview conducted just before the match, Totti was posed the question of whether his “prime” version – representing his career peak – would today be considered among the top 20, or even top ten players globally. Francesco responded assertively:
“I would be in the top three. In fact, truthfully, I cannot think of any active player in Europe who is stronger than the best Totti. There isn`t one currently, and I`m being honest.”
