Sunderland is reportedly in discussions regarding a potential move for OGC Nice`s 24-year-old left-back, Melvin Bard.
The club, known for its recent focus on the French football scene, has already secured Habib Diarra from RC Strasbourg Alsace. They were also close to signing Marcin Bulka before Neom SC intervened. Furthermore, FC Nantes` Matthis Abline and Olympique Lyonnais` Georges Mikautadze are being considered as potential striker signings.
Bard is another player from Nice with whom the recently promoted Premier League outfit is negotiating. A contract proposal, potentially lasting four or even five years, has been put forward, but a final agreement has not yet been reached.
Interest in the defender is also reported from two other Premier League teams. Nice, preparing for UEFA Champions League qualifiers, prefers to keep Bard, but his future may depend on the offers they receive.
