Subnautica 2 Co-op: A Wuss’s Survival Guide

Esports

Confession: I never managed to finish the original Subnautica. While I appreciated its unique blend of open-world survival and storytelling, my fear of the ocean and its unseen inhabitants proved to be my downfall. The bright, welcoming Safe Shallows were fine, but as the environment grew darker and more mysterious, my anxiety escalated. The vast, dark depths filled with potential horrors were simply too much for me. In short, I spent most of my time in the first game hugging the surface, trying desperately not to ponder what creatures might be lurking below. When the only path forward involved descending into the unknown, I simply stopped playing.

Therefore, the announcement of Subnautica 2’s co-op mode, with its promise of companionship and the comfort of shared exploration, immediately resonated with me. The idea of facing the alien ocean with a friend offered a much-needed sense of security.
