Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller and Chris Führich Join German National Team Squad

Bundesliga News

VfB Stuttgart has confirmed that both Angelo Stiller and Chris Führich have received call-ups to the German national football team.

Despite their impressive form at the MHP Arena, which has seen Stuttgart climb to third place in the Bundesliga, both players were initially overlooked by national coach Julian Nagelsmann when the squad was announced last Thursday.

Their call-ups now come as replacements, necessitated by injuries to Bayern Munich’s Aleksander Pavlovic and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha.

A Case for Initial Inclusion?

Many would argue that at least Angelo Stiller merited a spot in the original squad announced last week. The midfielder has been a cornerstone of Sebastian Hoeneß’s team, consistently demonstrating his capability to start in midfield, potentially alongside talents like Aleksander Pavlovic.

However, Nagelsmann had previously indicated a preference for deploying Pavlovic’s Bayern Munich teammate, Leon Goretzka, in the defensive midfield role, despite Goretzka’s increasingly diminished role at his club.
