Strasbourg Set to Sign Pape Demba Diop from Zulte Waregem

Football News

RC Strasbourg Alsace has reportedly reached an agreement with Belgian First Division B club Zulte Waregem to sign 21-year-old midfielder Pape Demba Diop, according to Fabrizio Romano.

This season, Diop has featured in 31 games for Zulte Waregem across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing six assists. This marks a significant improvement from his debut European season in 2022/23, after joining from Senegalese club Diambars FC, where he made only 12 appearances with just one goal and one assist.

Under BlueCo ownership, Strasbourg has focused on identifying and acquiring promising young players with significant potential for growth. Diop appears to fit this strategy, as the club aims to reinforce its midfield options.

The Ligue 1 side faces a busy summer transfer window as they seek to bolster their midfield, especially with the departure of Andrey Santos returning to Chelsea FC and speculation surrounding Habib Diarra`s future.
