Stade de Reims Secures Experienced Defender Nicolas Pallois

Football News

Stade de Reims has officially announced the signing of veteran centre-back Nicolas Pallois, aged 37, on a free transfer. Pallois joins the club after spending eight years with FC Nantes, where his contract was not renewed. Nantes opted against extending the defender`s deal as part of a planned significant overhaul of the squad inherited by Luis Castro. Nantes has already brought in free agent Uros Radakovic as a replacement for Pallois.

Pallois has signed a contract with Reims, managed by Karel Geraerts, for one year with an option for an additional year. The former Bordeaux player will wear the number 5 jersey for his new team. Reims was recently relegated to Ligue 2 following a defeat to FC Metz in the relegation play-offs. However, the Champagne-based club might still secure an immediate return to Ligue 1, pending the outcome of Lyon`s appeal against their administrative relegation.
