Young French goalkeeper Robin Risser, aged 20, has officially joined RC Lens from RC Strasbourg Alsace. He has signed a contract spanning five years with his new club.
This summer, Lens has seen two goalkeepers leave. Hervé Koffi moved to SCO Angers on loan, and Mathew Ryan left after his short contract expired. Ryan had initially arrived to cover for the departure of Brice Samba, who joined Stade Rennais in January.
Risser`s arrival represents another change in the goalkeeping department, but is viewed as a long-term investment. The France U21 international had a strong loan spell with Red Star in Ligue 2 during the previous season.
Risser`s transfer to Lens is reportedly valued at €3 million, with potential add-ons of up to €2 million. RC Strasbourg Alsace, which is owned by BlueCo, will also receive 25% of any future transfer fee for the player.
