Serbian club Red Star Belgrade has reportedly submitted a €4 million offer for Rennes midfielder Glen Kamara. The 29-year-old Finland international signed for Rennes from Leeds United last summer in a €10 million deal but found playing time limited, making just 13 appearances in Ligue 1 during the first half of the season.
This lack of playing time led to a loan move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab in January, which included a purchase option. However, Al-Shabab did not activate this option, and Kamara has since returned to Rennes. Despite his return, Kamara is not expected to remain with the club long-term, as Rennes are actively looking to offload several players, including him.
While there has been interest from Turkish clubs, Red Star Belgrade are the first to make a concrete offer for Kamara. The reported bid is valued at €4 million. Rennes are understood to be seeking a higher fee, specifically between €5 million and €6 million for the player`s transfer. Negotiations between the two clubs regarding the potential move are currently ongoing.
