RC Lens is actively working on building their squad for the upcoming season, even as the club continues its search for a new manager following Will Still`s recent departure.
According to reports from Foot Mercato, Lens holds an interest in 25-year-old Saudi Arabian full-back Saud Abdulhamid. Abdulhamid joined AS Roma last summer from his native country, having previously been on the radar of Ligue 1 clubs Stade de Reims and Toulouse FC. However, his time in the Italian capital has seen limited opportunities, with just eight appearances across all competitions so far. Despite this, he achieved a notable milestone by becoming the first Saudi Arabian player to score in a European competition, finding the net in a UEFA Europa League match against Braga.
Foot Mercato understands that Roma is planning to loan Abdulhamid out this summer, specifically looking for a move to Ligue 1. Lens is reportedly very interested in securing the player`s services. Toulouse FC also remains keen, maintaining their interest from the previous season. Additionally, two other unnamed French clubs are monitoring the situation regarding the defender.
