Despite now playing for rivals Marseille, former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot offered praise for his old club after they secured their first-ever UEFA Champions League title. PSG achieved this historic victory by defeating Inter Milan convincingly with a 5-0 scoreline in the final match held in Munich.
Rabiot, who was a PSG player from 2012 to 2019, described the match as completely one-sided. “There was no contest,” he remarked, adding that many in Italy were questioning why Inter, who had previously eliminated Barcelona, performed so poorly. He noted Lautaro Martínez seemed below his usual standard, with only Marcus Thuram making an impression for Inter, while PSG delivered an “outstanding game.”
The midfielder, who moved to Marseille last summer following his time at Juventus, didn`t hold back in his assessment of Inter`s display. He labeled the heavy 5-0 loss as “humiliating” and stated bluntly that “Inter didn’t play their final.”
Despite his commitment to Marseille, where he helped the team finish second in Ligue 1 this season, Rabiot`s current focus is on international duty. The 29-year-old is training with the French national squad (“Les Bleus”) at Clairefontaine as they prepare for their Nations League semi-final match against Spain on Thursday.
