PSG Rated as Favorites for FIFA Club World Cup by Supercomputer

Fresh off securing a UEFA Champions League trophy, Paris Saint-Germain is positioned as a leading contender to secure another major title this summer.

Opta`s supercomputer has identified the reigning Ligue 1 champions as the top favorites to win the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. Luis Enrique’s squad is among the 3 2global clubs participating in the tournament. The supercomputer calculates PSG`s chance of winning at 18.5%, placing them just ahead of Manchester City, who have a 17.8% probability.

Bayern Munich is ranked third with a 12.8% chance, followed by Champions League runners-up Inter Milan at 12.3%. Real Madrid rounds out the top five favorites with a 9.8% probability.

Drawn into a group alongside Atlético Madrid, the Seattle Sounders, and last year`s Copa Libertadores champions Botafogo (a club owned by Olympique Lyonnais owner John Textor), PSG is given a strong 75.4% likelihood of progressing to the quarter-finals.

This tournament marks the inaugural appearance for `Les Parisiens` in the competition, making them the first French club ever to participate.

The competition is set to commence on Saturday with former PSG forward Lionel Messi leading Inter Miami against Egyptian club Al Ahly.

PSG will begin their campaign on Sunday facing Atlético Madrid. They will then play Botafogo on June 19, concluding the group stage four days later against the Sounders. All of these initial group matches are scheduled to take place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
