Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly making provisional plans for a potential victory parade on the Champs-Élysées avenue on Sunday, should they win the Champions League final against Inter Milan on Saturday. An agreement in principle has been reached between the Ligue 1 champions and Parisian authorities regarding this possible celebration on one of the world`s most famous avenues.
According to discussions with local officials, including the mayor of the 8th arrondissement, initial concerns stemmed from shopkeepers` worries about significant disturbances. However, an agreement is now confirmed, with the approval of the Elysée (French president`s office), for a parade route stretching from the Champs-Élysées roundabout to the Arc de Triomphe, contingent on a PSG victory.
Authorities have also confirmed that special traffic arrangements, including closing the Champs-Élysées to vehicles, will be implemented starting Saturday at 7 pm local time.
In related news, Paris City Hall intends to light up the Eiffel Tower in red and blue throughout Saturday`s game and have it sparkle every time PSG scores a goal.
