However, his tenure on their bench for the upcoming top-flight season is uncertain, as he appears interested in pursuing a new challenge.

This potential move could still be within Serie B, as Palermo is reportedly intensifying their efforts to sign the former Milan boss.

The 51-year-old began his coaching career with the Rossoneri in the 2014-15 season, subsequently managing Venezia, Bologna, Benevento, Brescia, Reggina, and Salernitana before taking charge at Pisa last summer.

Palermo also aimed for promotion this season but were defeated in the playoffs by Juve Stabia after finishing eighth in the regular season standings.
