Paul Pogba set to complete Monaco move on Thursday

Football News

Reports indicate, via Marc Mechenoua, that midfielder Paul Pogba, aged 32, is scheduled to finalise his transfer to Monaco this Thursday. The French international is expected to sign a contract for two years with the Monégasque club upon his arrival in the Principality.

Pogba is set to join Monaco as a free agent. His contract with Juventus was ended prematurely in November 2024 following the partial lifting of a ban. Initially handed a four-year suspension for a doping violation after testing positive for a prohibited substance, his ban was later reduced to 18 months upon appeal. The midfielder has reportedly been training individually in Miami while awaiting the finalisation of his move.

Ligue 1 over Saudi Arabia

At one stage, there were concerns that Pogba`s proposed transfer to Monaco might not materialise. The potential agreement faced a challenge when another club was reportedly attempting to intercept the Ligue 1 side`s pursuit of the 32-year-old. Al Ittihad were the interested party from Saudi Arabia, but the former Manchester United player ultimately chose a return to France over a switch to the Middle East.
