Reports indicate that midfielder Paul Pogba, aged 32, is expected to finalize his transfer to AS Monaco this Thursday. The French international is set to sign a two-year contract with the Principality club upon his arrival.
Pogba will join Monaco on a free transfer. His contract with Juventus was terminated in November 2024 following the early lifting of a portion of his ban. Originally handed a four-year suspension for a doping violation, this was reduced to 18 months upon appeal. The midfielder has reportedly been training independently in Miami as he awaited confirmation of his next club.
Initially, Pogba`s potential move to Monaco faced uncertainty. Reports suggested the deal could be `hijacked` by another interested party. Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad was linked with the former Manchester United player, but Pogba reportedly preferred a return to French football (Ligue 1) over a transfer to Saudi Arabia.
