Paul Pogba, the former Juventus midfielder, has officially returned to football after signing with AS Monaco as a free agent. This move comes following his doping ban and the mutual termination of his contract with Juventus in November 2024. The French international is 32 years old.
He completed his medical examination recently and signed a two-year deal. Reports suggest the contract is valued at €2 million per season. He will wear the number 8 shirt for Monaco.
Pogba`s Previous Spells at Juventus
This marks a new chapter after his second stint at Juventus, which began in the summer of 2022 when he rejoined as a free agent from Manchester United. His previous departure from Juventus in 2016 was a then-world record transfer to Old Trafford for €105 million. Notably, his initial move to Juventus in 2012 was also as a free agent from Manchester United when he was a teenager.
His second period at Juventus was significantly impacted by injuries and a failed drug test in August 2023. Initially handed a four-year doping ban in February 2024, this suspension was later reduced on appeal to 18 months in October 2024.
Throughout his career, Pogba has made 190 competitive appearances for Juventus and 233 for Manchester United.
