Paris Saint-Germain Qualify for 2029 FIFA Club World Cup

Football News

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have officially secured their place in the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup. This qualification comes as a direct result of their victory in the 2024-2025 UEFA Champions League, a fact confirmed by FIFA.

Under the management of Luis Enrique, Les Parisiens delivered a stunning performance in the Champions League final held in Munich on Saturday night. They decisively defeated Italian giants Inter Milan with an emphatic 5-0 scoreline. This dominant display not only earned them the coveted trophy but also set a new record for the largest winning margin in a Champions League final.

Looking ahead, the victorious Champions League side is scheduled to face Europa League winners Tottenham Hotspur in Udine on Wednesday, August 13.

In addition to their 2029 qualification, PSG have also earned berths in the 2025 Intercontinental Cup and the upcoming 2025 edition of the Club World Cup. The 2029 tournament will be the second instance of the expanded Club World Cup format. Al-Ahli, winners of the 2025 AFC Champions League, have also qualified for the 2029 event.

PSG`s high standing in the UEFA ranking system also made them eligible to participate in the 2025 Club World Cup. In June, they are slated to compete against notable teams such as Atlético de Madrid, Botafogo, and Seattle Sounders in this earlier tournament.
