Palmeiras midfielder Rios attractive to Inter and Premier League sides for 30m

Football News

Inter Milan is reportedly showing interest in Palmeiras and Colombian international midfielder Richard Rios, although they face significant competition from several Premier League teams.

The Nerazzurri are believed to be searching for potential alternatives, particularly as Hakan Calhanoglu is reportedly keen on a transfer to Galatasaray this summer.

According to reports from Italy, the 25-year-old Rios is considered a prime target, having impressed observers with his recent performances, including during the FIFA Club World Cup held in the United States.

Previously linked with fellow Serie A clubs like Milan and Roma, Inter now sees Rios as a player possessing characteristics similar to Atalanta midfielder Ederson.

While Rios`s contract includes a hefty €100 million release clause, Palmeiras is understood to be potentially open to negotiating offers closer to the €28-30 million valuation.

They have already rejected bids below this price range, such as approximately €22 million from FC Porto and €25 million from West Ham United, highlighting the existing level of competition for his signature.

Further interest from other prominent Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur, is also anticipated to grow.

Adding a layer of complexity common in South American transfers, the player`s ownership structure is shared. Palmeiras holds 70 percent of Rios`s economic rights, with the remaining 30 percent split between Flamengo and his agents.
