Ousmane Dembélé has enjoyed a dominant 2025 season with Paris Saint-Germain, securing every trophy available. His year began with a late winning goal against AS Monaco in the Trophée des Champions in January, followed by victories in the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, and Coupe de France.
Now, PSG is aiming for another piece of silverware: the FIFA Club World Cup. The Parisian club is set to meet Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals and is widely considered the favourite not only for this match but also to lift the trophy.
While Dembélé emphasizes his commitment to PSG`s goal of winning the inaugural Club World Cup, he admits to having a significant personal ambition that he feels is within reach. “I`m thinking about it [the Ballon d’Or],” the French forward told DAZN in an interview.
He further commented, “I know that after the season I`ve had, I`m not far off [winning the Ballon d’Or], but my focus remains firmly on the team`s objectives before considering personal accolades.”
The 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony is scheduled earlier than usual, taking place in Paris on September 22nd. This is when Dembélé will learn if his performance throughout the season has been sufficient to earn him this prestigious individual award.
