UEFA has officially confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé, 28, has been named the 2024-2025 Champions League Player of the Season. The French international achieved a career first by lifting the Champions League trophy after PSG’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the final held in Munich on Saturday. Dembélé was a key player in the final match, contributing two assists – one leading to a goal for Désiré Doué and another for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
This recognition as the Champions League Player of the Season could potentially pave the way for Dembélé to contend for football`s top individual honour, the Ballon d’Or. Meanwhile, his young teammate, the impressive Désiré Doué, who netted two goals and assisted Achraf Hakimi’s opening strike, was awarded the Champions League Young Player of the Season title. UEFA also revealed the Champions League Team of the Season, featuring seven players from PSG out of the eleven selected: Gianluigi Donnarumma, Marquinhos, Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, Ousmane Dembélé, and Désiré Doué.
