Olympique de Marseille has officially named Alessandro Antonello as the club`s new chief executive officer. The 59-year-old Italian executive is set to commence his duties on July 1st.

Antonello brings extensive experience from his ten-year tenure at Inter Milan, where he progressed through roles including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and eventually CEO. His time with the Serie A powerhouse coincided with a highly successful period for the club, marked by two league championships, two Coppa Italia victories, and three Supercoppa Italiana triumphs.

In a statement released by Olympique de Marseille, Antonello described OM as a “unique club” distinguished by “rare passion and ambition in European football.” He affirmed his commitment to dedicating his full energy to support Pablo Longoria`s “long-term project.”

The responsibilities assigned to the former Inter executive include leading the club`s economic development strategy. This encompasses key areas such as diversifying revenue streams, maximizing the commercial potential of the Orange Vélodrome stadium, driving digital transformation initiatives, and enhancing the club`s international standing. According to Marseille`s official announcement, this strategic appointment is aligned with the club`s broader objective to “establish the club among the top 24 in Europe.”
