Nicolas Cozza Poised for Third Loan Spell at Nantes

Football News

Nicolas Cozza, the 26-year-old player currently with Wolfsburg, is reportedly nearing a return to FC Nantes for what would be his third consecutive loan period. This information comes via a report from French newspaper L`Équipe.

Cozza first joined “Les Canaris” on a short-term loan agreement two seasons ago. He then spent the entirety of the subsequent campaign with the Ligue 1 side.

Following Nantes` successful effort to retain their status in Ligue 1 last season, Cozza is now anticipated to rejoin the club once more on a loan deal covering the full season. This prospective agreement is said to mirror the previous one in that it will not include an option for a permanent transfer. Furthermore, his parent club, Wolfsburg, is expected to contribute to covering a portion of the French defender`s salary.

A significant factor in the defender`s decision was reportedly his desire to work under Nantes` new manager, Luís Castro, who has taken over from Antoine Kombouaré. This motivation led Cozza to choose a return to Nantes despite having received interest from clubs based in England and Greece.

Cozza, who remains under contract with Wolfsburg until the summer of 2027, is expected to arrive at Nantes` training facilities sometime on Monday. Should the move be completed, he would become Les Canaris` third signing of the summer transfer window, following the earlier arrivals of Alexis Mirbach and Uros Radakovic.
