Reports indicate that Napoli are showing interest in Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish, who is rarely featured, considering a potential loan move. However, according to Telegraph Sport, the Neapolitans will not be able to afford his current extraordinary salary of €18 million per year.
The Naples club has previously demonstrated an ability to successfully revitalise the careers of players who were sidelined in the Premier League, such as Romelu Lukaku and Scott McTominay.
Now they hope to repeat this success with Grealish, who was not even included in the Manchester City squad travelling for the Club World Cup this summer.
Grealish`s Career Stalls

He will turn 30 in September and is under contract until June 2027, so he might be open to a new experience outside England to rediscover his best form.
The left-sided attacking player never lived up to the €117.5 million transfer fee paid to Aston Villa in 2021, scoring just 17 goals and providing 23 assists in 157 competitive appearances for Manchester City.

As he continues to fall down the pecking order, if Grealish is to relaunch his career in Italy with Napoli, it means his exorbitant wages of £300,000 per week would need to be reduced.
This amounts to £15.6 million per year, or approximately €18.3 million.
If he were to arrive on loan, the Premier League club would have to cover up to 50 percent of his salary during that spell.
