Monaco Hold Discussions Over Barcelona’s Marc-André ter Stegen

Football News

AS Monaco has reportedly engaged in discussions concerning a potential transfer for Barcelona`s 33-year-old goalkeeper, Marc-André ter Stegen.

The club from the Principality is actively searching for a primary goalkeeper this summer. Monaco`s CEO, Thiago Scuro, stated at the end of the Ligue 1 season that a new keeper was needed, as the current options, Radoslaw Majecki and Philipp Köhn, did not perform convincingly throughout the campaign.

Various other goalkeepers have been linked with a move to Monaco, including David De Gea (who was considered), Djordje Petrovic, Marcin Bulka, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic from Torino, and Ugurcan Çakir of Trabzonspor. Among these, Çakir is noted as being a more financially realistic target.

Ter Stegen remains a potential target. Despite his contract with Barcelona running until 2028, reports suggest that discussions have recently taken place with the German international regarding a potential move to Monaco.
