AS Monaco anticipates the possible sale of right-back Vanderson (24) during the upcoming summer transfer window. According to a report published by L`Équipe, Saël Kumbedi (20) from Olympique Lyonnais is being considered as a potential alternative.
Vanderson joined Monaco in January 2022. After spending approximately three and a half years at the club based in the Principality, the time may be approaching for him to seek a move elsewhere. The Brazilian international defender has reportedly attracted interest from clubs within the Premier League, as well as from Spanish giants Barcelona. Monaco is understood to be open to approving his departure, provided that a satisfactory offer is submitted.
Nevertheless, his potential exit would create a void that needs to be filled at the right-back position. While Wilfried Singo has frequently featured in this role, he is also a player who could potentially depart. Krépin Diatta, typically a squad player, has also occasionally been deployed in that area of the pitch.
Consequently, the club is in search of a new acquisition for the position. Lyon`s Kumbedi is seen as a viable option. The 20-year-old defender, who is under contract with OL until 2027, participated in 14 matches in Ligue 1 last season and also made four appearances in the UEFA Europa League.
