Marseille Set to Sign Facundo Medina

Football News

Olympique de Marseille are reportedly close to reaching an agreement to acquire 26-year-old RC Lens defender Facundo Medina.

With their return to the UEFA Champions League next season, Marseille have prioritised reinforcing their defensive line this summer. Medina was identified as a key target, and they are now nearing a deal for him.

The Argentine international had previously received permission to depart Lens this summer from the club`s former management team, which has since been restructured following the end of the Ligue 1 season. Despite these changes, his potential departure still seems on track.

The defender`s sole preference is reportedly a move to OM. He is expected to sign a contract valid until 2030. The transfer fee is anticipated to be around €20 million. At the Stade Vélodrome, he will join fellow Argentine international Leonardo Balerdi, who serves as the team captain.
