Marseille Set to Finalize Facundo Medina Signing

Football News

Olympique de Marseille is reportedly nearing a deal to acquire Facundo Medina, the 26-year-old defender from RC Lens.

As OM prepares for its return to the UEFA Champions League, reinforcing the defense has been identified as a key priority for the summer transfer window. Medina emerged as a prime target, and the club is now on the verge of securing his signature.

The Argentine international had previously received permission from Lens` former management to seek a move this summer. Despite recent structural changes within the club, this position appears unchanged.

The defender himself is reported to be solely interested in joining Olympique de Marseille. The potential transfer is expected to be completed for a fee in the region of €20 million, with Medina signing a long-term contract likely extending until 2030. Upon arrival at the Vélodrome, he would join fellow Argentine international Leonardo Balerdi, who serves as the team`s captain.
