Olympique de Marseille has officially announced the appointment of Alessandro Antonello as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer. The 59-year-old Italian is set to begin his duties on July 1st.

Antonello brings a wealth of experience from a decade spent at Inter Milan. During his time with the Serie A giants, he held successive roles including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and most recently, CEO. His tenure coincided with a period of significant success for Inter, which saw them secure two Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia wins, and three Supercoppa Italiana trophies.

In a statement released by OM, Antonello described the club as “unique” with “rare passion and ambition in European football.” He pledged his full commitment to supporting Pablo Longoria’s “long-term project.”

The former Inter executive’s key responsibilities will include spearheading OM’s economic development strategy. This involves diversifying revenue streams, maximizing the commercial potential of the Orange Vélodrome stadium, driving the club’s digital transformation, and boosting its international profile. According to Marseille’s official statement, this move is part of a broader strategic goal to establish the club among the top 24 in Europe.
