Marseille Eyeing Chelsea’s Benoît Badiashile for Defensive Reinforcement

Football News

Olympique de Marseille are searching for experienced central defenders as manager Roberto De Zerbi plans to adopt a four-man defense for next season, when the club will compete in the UEFA Champions League. Chelsea`s Benoît Badiashile, aged 24, is reportedly one of the players Marseille is considering.

Marseille`s search has linked them with several notable defenders, such as Aymeric Laporte, Facundo Medina, and Nayef Aguerd. Earlier reports also indicated Chelsea`s Benoît Badiashile (24) as a potential target.

Recent reports suggest Badiashile remains on Marseille`s list, even as they make progress with other targets like Lens`s Facundo Medina. Other defenders being considered include Óscar Mingueza from Celta Vigo and Ramy Bensebaïni (30) from Borussia Dortmund.

Last season, the former Monaco player Badiashile made only 19 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions. Competition for a place in the starting lineup under new manager Enzo Maresca is expected to intensify this summer.
