Manchester City’s Opening Bid for Rayan Cherki Rejected by Lyon

Premier League club Manchester City has had its initial offer to sign Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Rayan Cherki rejected.

Reports indicate that Manchester City`s proposal was valued at €23 million. This figure is significantly below Lyon`s reported valuation for the player, which is understood to be in the range of €35 million to €40 million.

Despite the initial offer being turned down, it is understood that Manchester City has already reached an agreement with the 21-year-old French international regarding personal terms.

Rayan Cherki is reportedly Manchester City`s primary target for this position, and consequently, an improved bid from the English club is expected soon. Manchester City is reportedly keen to finalize the deal swiftly to have the player available for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. Cherki recently received his first call-up to the senior France national team squad.
