According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City is preparing to submit an improved offer to Olympique Lyonnais for the 21-year-old Rayan Cherki.
Sacha Tavolieri previously reported that Lyon rejected City`s initial bid, which was €23 million, as it was below their valuation of €35-40 million for the France international. An improved offer was anticipated, as Cherki is considered the Premier League club`s primary target in their search for a new playmaker.
Romano adds that discussions between Lyon and Manchester City have resumed. Cherki is reportedly very keen on moving to the English club and is said to have already agreed personal terms and discussed the project with Pep Guardiola.
Cherki recently earned his first senior cap for France, debuting and scoring against Spain in the Nations League semi-final loss (5-4). He also featured in the third-place playoff win against Germany (2-0).
