According to reports emerging from Italy, specifically citing journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Manchester City are exploring the possibility of signing Paris Saint-Germain`s goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, during the upcoming summer transfer window. The 26-year-old Italian international`s situation at the Parc des Princes is said to be uncertain following the conclusion of the recent season.
It is reported that City`s manager, Pep Guardiola, holds the former AC Milan goalkeeper in high regard. Given that Donnarumma has not yet signed a new contract with PSG, a potential transfer to the North West of England could become a viable option for the player.
Despite the reported interest from the English side, PSG themselves are keen to retain Donnarumma`s services. The reigning French champions have reportedly initiated discussions aimed at securing a potential contract extension for their number one, whose current deal is set to expire in 2026.
Negotiations between Donnarumma`s representatives and PSG`s sporting advisor, Luis Campos, reportedly commenced over a month ago. However, these talks were postponed until the end of the season. It is understood that the goalkeeper`s requirements for extending his stay with the Ligue 1 club have been clearly communicated to the Parisian management. Should these demands not be met, a departure from PSG appears increasingly probable.
