Reports from L`Équipe indicate that Manchester City and Olympique Lyonnais have agreed on terms for the transfer of 21-year-old Rayan Cherki.
Manchester City reportedly raised their initial offer of €23.5 million. While the precise fee remains undisclosed, earlier information suggested Lyon valued the attacking midfielder at €35 million to €40 million.
The French international was reportedly eager to move to Manchester City. Following the finalization of details, he is expected to sign a contract keeping him with the club until 2030. The versatile midfielder, who can also operate on the wing, was a key target for City as they aim to bounce back in the Premier League next season.
Cherki is set to be available for Manchester City`s squad participating in the new-look FIFA Club World Cup later this month.
