According to a report from L’Équipe, Olympique Lyonnais is now aware of the significant financial capital they must secure to reverse the administrative decision to relegate them to Ligue 2. The club`s appeal before the DNCG, the French football financial regulatory body, is scheduled for July 10th.
Les Gones have been informed they need to raise a total of €200 million to overturn their demotion to the second tier of French football. A crucial €100 million of this amount must be available and verifiable within the club`s accounts in the mere 7 days remaining before the appeal hearing.
Furthermore, Lyon will need to demonstrate a credible plan for an additional €100 million to enter the club`s finances before the current season concludes. This sum is expected to be generated primarily through revenue streams such as competition prize money and player transfers. It is noted that John Textor will not be present at the DNCG appeal meeting; representation will instead be led by the new OL president and chairwoman, Michelle Kang, accompanied by General Manager Michael Gerlinger.
