Luka Modrić Nears Milan Move: Contract Details Finalized, Medical Next Week

Football News

Representatives for Luka Modrić were seen at AC Milan`s offices today, putting the finishing touches on his contract details. The experienced Croatian midfielder is expected to undergo his medical examination sometime next week.

The midfielder has committed to joining the Rossoneri on a free transfer. A one-year contract is reportedly agreed, including an option for a second year, and is said to be worth just under €4 million annually with bonuses.

Modrić Ready for Milan Challenge

Similar to the situation with Kevin De Bruyne and Napoli, the medical tests and contract signing have been postponed until after the current international break.

Croatia is scheduled to play World Cup qualifiers against Gibraltar on Friday, followed by a match against the Czech Republic on Monday.

A brief window exists for him to complete the medical examination in Milan before he is due to rejoin the Real Madrid squad for the upcoming Club World Cup tournament.

Modrić will celebrate his 40th birthday in September. Despite his age, he is still considered to have significant contributions to make, especially after a hugely successful 13-year spell at Real Madrid where he secured numerous major trophies.

His representatives were present at Casa Milan today, working towards finalising the transfer agreement.

Modrić reportedly eagerly accepted this opportunity, having been a fan of the Serie A club since his youth. This long-held support was previously disclosed by former Milan player Zvonimir Boban.
