Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has moved to ease concerns and speculation surrounding the potential departure of young forward Bradley Barcola, aged 22, during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Barcola made a strong start to the season, but as the campaign progressed, he faced increased competition for a regular starting spot. This was notably influenced by the arrival of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli in January in a €70m transfer, who was quickly integrated into the first team, and the improved form of Désiré Doué after settling into life at PSG.
These factors led to reports suggesting Barcola might look for a move away from the French capital this summer. According to information from L’Équipe, clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich reportedly made enquiries about his availability. However, PSG`s position on the player is understood to be clear and unwavering – he is not for sale.
Luis Enrique himself reinforced this stance in a recent press conference. As transcribed by Fabrizio Romano, the coach stated, “I have no doubt that he will remain our player. We appreciate it when our players attract interest from other clubs. However, he is one of the young talents we have specifically built our plans around. I fully expect him to be playing here for many more years to come.”
Furthermore, the France international winger himself is reportedly content and happy at the Paris club and is not actively seeking a transfer away from the Parc des Princes.
