Esports

A highly anticipated game slated for the PlayStation Plus Essential lineup in April has reportedly been revealed ahead of Sony’s official announcement.

According to reliable reports, subscribers to PS Plus will soon gain access to the challenging action-RPG Lords of the Fallen. To clarify, this refers to the 2023 title developed by Hexworks, which is a distinct experience from the original 2014 game sharing a similar name.

Sources indicate that Lords of the Fallen will be available across all PlayStation Plus tiers—Essential, Extra, and Premium—starting April 7th. Players will then have until May 5th to claim the game and add it to their library.

Upon its initial release, Lords of the Fallen received a mixed reception, with some critics pointing out its reliance on “Soulslike clichés and performance difficulties” when compared to genre benchmarks. However, developer Hexworks has since rolled out numerous significant updates and improvements, enhancing the game’s overall state considerably since its launch. Furthermore, a sequel to Lords of the Fallen was confirmed to be in active development by publisher CI Games in 2024.

Sony is widely expected to officially confirm April’s PlayStation Plus game lineup in the coming days, offering players a full look at the month’s offerings.
