Liverpool and Bayern Interested in RB Leipzig Defender Lukeba Transfer

Bundesliga News

Liverpool and Bayern Munich are reportedly showing strong interest in RB Leipzig and France national team central defender Castello Lukeba. According to reports from Footmercato, both European giants are keen on signing the young French international.

The 22-year-old defender, who previously played for Lyon, has a release clause set at €90 million in his current contract with the German club. However, RB Leipzig is understood to be willing to consider advantageous offers for a transfer below this figure, indicating they are not necessarily determined to hold onto the player at any cost.

In addition to Liverpool and Bayern, Tottenham Hotspur is also believed to be monitoring Lukeba`s situation. However, their potential move for the defender is said to be contingent on the departure of their key defender, Cristian Romero.

Lukeba joined RB Leipzig from Lyon two years ago for a transfer fee of €30 million. His contract with the Bundesliga side is valid until the summer of 2029. According to the football statistics website Transfermarkt, the estimated market value of the player is currently around €40 million. Last season, he made 31 appearances for RB Leipzig across all competitions.
