Lille Reportedly Hijack Watford Deal for Udinese Forward Vivaldo Semedo

Football News

Lille OSC is nearing the signing of 20-year-old Udinese forward Vivaldo Semedo. Reports indicate he was close to joining Watford in the EFL Championship before Lille made a late move.

This acquisition follows Lille`s confirmed signing of Olivier Giroud on a free transfer. The club, set to participate in next season`s UEFA Europa League, is also reportedly in discussions to sign Hamza Igamane from Rangers. The move for Semedo represents another step in strengthening their squad.

An agreement with Udinese is reportedly close, valued at around €3 million. Semedo spent last season on loan at Vizela in the Portuguese second division, where he scored nine goals and provided four assists.

It is understood that before Lille`s late intervention, Semedo was nearing a move to Watford. The final step for the player is to complete a medical examination before signing his five-year contract with the Ligue 1 club.
