Le Havre AC Sold to American Firm Blue Crow

Football News

Vincent Volpe, the current owner of Le Havre AC, has confirmed that the club has been sold to the American company Blue Crow.

Confidence had been high that an agreement would be reached for the sale of the Normandy club. Blue Crow was present with Volpe during the club`s recent meeting with the DNCG (Direction Nationale du Contrôle de Gestion). This meeting occurred on Tuesday, and the transaction is now finalized. Volpe stated that the agreement has been signed, and they are currently waiting for official approval from the DNCG.

Blue Crow currently owns several other football clubs, such as Leganés in Spain and Cancun in Mexico. After the mid-season review by the DNCG, Le Havre`s wage bill faced intense examination. The DNCG imposed restrictions that significantly hampered the club`s recruitment activities.

Despite these challenges, Les Ciel et Marines (a nickname for the club) successfully remained in Ligue 1. With the change in ownership, there is hope that these financial limitations will be removed before the start of another season in the top division.
